There are many thousands of descendants all over North America of Pierre Lorrain dit Lachapelle, who immigrated from France in 1655. His many great grandson François 'Françis' Laurin was born in Napierville Québec. His own descendants are concentrated in New York and Massachusetts as well as Québec. The author has undertaken to revise (with her kind permission) a previous work by Anita Laurin of Chazy, N.Y. and flesh out and update her already impressive research about the twelve generations of Laurins in North America. Meant to be a fun read as well as the definitive retelling of this family saga.
