We're a small locality looking to build an application that will allow employee's to submit and have their timesheets approved online.
We would like the application to be integrated with Active Directory. The user would sign on(Not automatic sign on)fill out their time card, and hit the submit button. The time would go to the supervisor for approval, and once approved by the supervisor, it would go to payroll to be processed.
We would need the approval chain to be easily configurable, so that you can designate a position as being the 1st step in the approval, and the Manager as the second step. with additional approvals be added for each type of time submitted. We'd like the Managers to be able to designate who can do certain actions and set limits on overtime, up to a certain number, or specify if regular hours are automatically approved, and so forth. The Excel File is an Example of our Current Timesheet. It is laid out how we want to capture the information.
We want the application developed in VB.NET with an MS SQL Backend. There would also have to be a simple web interface for time submission outside of the office as well.
We are not interested in any prepackaged products--nor are we interested in changing our processes to fit our software. We have forms of each time submission available to review. If the project is completed successfully, additional opportunities are available.
