We are looking for a developer or team to help us customize and install a PhpBB-forum on a WordPress site. We will do the basic set up of the WordPress site, but some of our ideas for the site requires advanced knowledge of web developing that we don’t have. This is our first time using external freelancers, therefore we will start with a smaller project. If we are satisfied with the results, the freelancer can expect to be contacted directly regarding more projects for the website (portfolio, manual integration etc).
PhpBB-Forum
We are a desktop software developer, and need a forum for our users to discuss, share images/videos etc.
We want a modern layout with both the navigation (list of forums, topics, latest topics etc.) and the content always visible (Two-column Forum-layout), and with responsive design.
To better understand, check out the left side pane/menu on [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] (click the menu button at the top left corner to see it).
We want something very similar, but instead of opening articles from left column (the forum topics), we want to open the forum posts. When a topic is selected on the left pane the content should be loaded in the right pane, without reloading the entire site. We think AJAX, JQuery or similar will be required to solve this task.
We need someone who understand what we want, and can create a great [login to view URL] must be able to take care of most details yourself, for example regarding responsiveness and other design issues. For example, forum-login, registration, UCP and all similar pages should be shown in the content pane. We haven't made any mockups for this, instead we expect you to be able to choose a style that goes well with the rest of our website. Keep in mind at all times that it’s important to keep the forum responsive. However we will provide you with some basic instructions and basic mockups.
Forum API
We want to be able to upload information directly from our software to the forum, and get information from the forum to show in the software. Therefore we need a forum API, to get requested info.
