Zimele community movement (ZCM) is a newly formed community organisation that seeks to improve the lives of community members through various programs and actions. ZMC advocates self governance and self determination of communities in general and African communities in particular. Its ideals are influenced by Biko and Marcus Garveys call for black self love and self determination.
The ZMC consists of active community members who volunteer their time to further the agendas of the movement.
The logo was initially envisaged to resemble a coat of arms. The elements that were proposed to be in the logo as per the community meeting was
1. A sjambok that represents the safety
and the disciplinarian nature of the
movement.
2. A spade/pick axe or something that
represents work. The idea was to have these two elements forming an "x" that also represents the power of the communities vote in local government elections
3. the whatsapp handshake emoji
preferably lifted as it is.. This is to
Signify Co operation.
4. A triangle to be incorporated as a
border/holding element, this
represents houses/shelter and the
vaal triangle
5. Colours of the movement are red, black, yellow and green
Any other elements that you may deem relevant. Basic concept of logo has been uploaded
