350493 Urgent - Magento Servr Optimi

Running Magento 1.3.2.1 multi-domain, multi-store site on Apache 1.3 with php 5.2.8 and MySQL 5.0.81.

Dedicated CENTOS 4.6 i686 virtuozzo with cPanel 11.24.5-R38506 & WHM 11.24.2 - X 3.9 (we are moving to apache 2.2 with APC next week - but need this ASAP) with:

RAM/MEMORY:

4gigs

DUAL PROCESSORS:

Switched over some live traffic, only about 1/3 of what is coming and server loads went from 2-3-4 to 30-40-50plus...

With those loads, getting tons of "General error: 2006 MySQL server has gone away" (entire error msg attached - partial below). Server is almost empty, so not an issue of too many users/domains - has to be some settings somehwere. MySQL config suspect for sure.

ONLY RESPOND id you know Magento and have experience, can't have any learning curves with this :) AND ARE AVAIL NEXT 12 HOURS TO START/COMPLETE (once escrow is funded)
