I have a project that needs to be completed asap. It should be coded in PHP 5 and make use of a single class with a couple of methods/functions.
The purpose of the class will be to process a large text file and insert into a temporary database. I have attached a sample of the data that will be used, however the data could change and the labels on the data will also change depending on where we get the data from. Therefore, you should develop a set of rules based on the name of the column and not the location.
Each column found in the text file will have a column in the database. All you will have to do is insert them into the db.
The front end of your script should handle the file upload and the ability to use a file already on the server. So the first page will have an upload form and will have a section that shows all the files found a particular folder (does not need to be able to browse other folders are the ability to nav through folders).
When a file is uploaded or one is selected from the local server, the class should be called and the process should begin. You need to make sure that there is some kind of check or refresh as you will be dealing with files that are upwards of 5000 records or more.
Images will need to be formatted to full URL's. So the form should have a place for the admin to enter the path to the image and this will just be appended to the image name values.
Your code should be well organized and commented as i will need to make further implentations in the near future.
