I will have a website that I would like for people to be able to enter a location (would be world-wide so needs to have some type of universal addressing method) and have a marker show-up on a map. Think about it along the lines of "I have been to this place" with an "X" marking that spot. For privacy, map location would not be down to the actual street-level detail....possibly remain at the zip code level. The site has not been constructed yet so there may be some requirement for a login/guest feature to allow location posting. This project could possibly involve creation of the entire site. The site will be 2-4 pages and initially light on content and functionality beyond the map.
To further clarify the mapping need, each location entered would remain on the map so there would need to be a method of storing previously entered locations (some type of database) so that the map would contain a cumulative view of all locations entered over time. Hope this clarifies the requirement beyond just a simple google maps integration. Thank you!
