Senior RoR/Postgresql Developer

- Strong RoR background (Rails 2.3 and 3)

- Strong PostgreSQL experience.

- Working knowledge of postgresql 8.4, triggers, stored procedures, constraints

- OOP history

- Unix/Linux experience

- experience with legacy ruby/rails/javascript code

- Prototype and JQuery

- Completion of a Ruby ODesk test

We are looking for a senior developer / manager to join our current team on a permanent basis.

We are a Melbourne, Australia based company. Our app is a great prospect to work with, as it integrates government business rules, with easy to use Web 2 functionality for the user.

It is a live app, currently with over 500 clients actively using it.

The app is an enterprise CRM.

The app is moving into other markets and we need maintenance of current app, re-factoring, modules expansion, iphone development and complete new market integration.

Working hours are 5 days a week 8 - 10 hours per day.

You will be required to manage completion of tickets via the use of Pivotal Tracker.

The application is large and complex, you will need to be a fast learner to learn the application logic along with the Australian Government business rules we need to integrate with.

Immediate start or as soon as available for best person. Ruby on Rails tests including 2.3 to be part of application please. Code examples required during interview process. Portfolio also.

HTML, JS (Prototype and/or JQuery), Rails 2.3.5/Rails 3, ruby 1.9.2/ruby 1.8.7, PostgreSQL are all elements we integrate with over our various modules within our product line.

We use Ubuntu on our servers, so working experience with Ubuntu or other linux system (Fedora or Debian) or general unix-like system (mac osx) would be needed for development and deployment and to use general unix command-line tools, git, ruby
