Item Portfolio

The challenge was to crate a flyer template that represented the function of Twitter, while personalizing the templates to a specific person on Twitter.

I chose to use vellum paper stacked one on top of another to represent the function of Twitter. This way the previous Tweets can be read through the most recent Tweet on the top of the pile. Obviously this represents how all of an individual's Tweets on Twitter can be read at any given time, with the most recent posted on the top of the page.

The individual these flyers represent is reality tv star, Tila Tequila. The vellum paper was chosen in pink, the typography is sporadic on each "flyer" page, and the typeface is very girlish/fancy which are all representations of Tila Tequila's personality. (Her Twitter account was deleted midway through my project, hence the "this page doesn't exist" for the first 6 pages)

The Tweets were later hung in a bar bathroom for any pass

Two thousand and nine marks my first leap into the world of professional freelance graphic and web design, and I am happy to report that I continue to thoroughly enjoy being a freelancer, which has now transformed into a small business/studio. I use Adobe Creative Suite CS3,4,5 (or whatever is the current version of the everchanging Adobe Creative Suite) to create design for print ranging from advertisements, newsletters, business cards and brochures, to apparel and merchandise design. I also hand code HTML

Although there is an ongoing debate on whether ot not design can be considered art and vice versa, I am proud to say that I am both a designer and fine artist. I use my strong sense of color, composition, lighting, and photo-realistic painting ability to create acrylic and oil based paintings with a specialization in portrature. So, if you do not like my design work, you can always commission a painting.

In this role I perform a huge range of tasks including the creative, design, and the production of the company's websites as well as designing all of their advertising and marketing material (direct mailers, door hangers, advertisements, portfolio books, and so on). I also developed their 2011 marketing campaign which included social networking and advertising through Google Adwords.

The term emerging artist is an insult - as no artist emerges but is born. Anybody that can create a flash of the world as they see it thru their own eyes is an artist. Period.
