Android Boot Animation - Return 4.4 KitKat to 4.3 JellyBean boot animation behavior

I am using an HP Slate 21 Pro Android tablet for an unattended kiosk application. The device is rooted. The device shipped with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. I created a custom boot animation that ran for approximately 75 seconds. While the boot animation was playing, Android was booting up, the tasker app was initialized, and several "lock down" tasks occurred including launching a locked down browser. When the boot animation finished, the first thing the user would see is the desired locked down browser homepage. HP recently pushed and OTA update to Android KitKat 4.4.2. I've been able to accomodate the upgrade for all my customizations except the boot animation. It appears in KitKat, Android does not begin booting and loading applications until AFTER the boot animation finishes...no matter how long you set the boot animation to run. I need someone to determine if it is possible to force KitKat 4.4.2 to behave like Jelly Bean 4.3....or to create a solution to lock/hide/disable the screen until my lockdown browser is up and running.
