Batch and serial number tracing database

I need a database that generates unique serial numbers (that never repeat) and pushes the serial numbers as a QR code with other formatted text to a label printer. Groups of individual units will be batched together in case lots (typically 100ct). We will need to generate case lot Identifiers to be applied to the 100ct case. That identifier should be associated with each unique serial number in the case. Multiple cases will form a master case and that master case will also need a unique identifier that is printable. That master case will be associated to the cases that are associated with the individual units. We (the manufacturer) will then need the ability to assign master cases and / or cases to a distributor or producer. If assigned to a distributor they will need the ability to reassign to a producer. If assigned to a producer they will need the ability to attach production details including pdf or jpg images of lab test results to either master cases, cases and/ or individual units. The backend of the database will be private, have roles with various permissions and be password protected. However, after the producer attaches all batch details, including test results they need the ability to publish the details to a website. End consumers should be able to scan the QR code attached to each unit to be directed to the site, or enter the alphanumeric code at the site, to view the batch info the producer published. Keep in mind the QR code’s attached to each unit are unique, but a batch may contain several thousand unique units. This means several thousand unique codes need to terminate to single batch info webpage. Lab testing companies will need to be able to confirm batch details. This can be a simple batch review and verify process prior to publishing. Manufacturer, distributor and producers need the ability to use a desktop bar code scanner or ipod/ iPad to capture QR code’s and enter details into the database. The manufacturer will likely use a desktop, distributors will likely use handhelds and producers will likely use a combination of desktop and iPod/iPads. When consumers enter their code to view the batch info they should be able to “claim the unit” and enter their contact information if they would like to be informed of recalls or receive marketing information from the producer.
