However, experience tells me that you never find two companies that work exactly in the same way, and this is where Filemaker comes in, with its strong customization capability. I'm ready to discuss in detail the project on Skype if you want. About me: I have a 17 years experience as a freelance Filemaker developer. I realized custom applications for small and medium companies to manage many different activities. To give an idea, I can attach some layout from recent works, if you reply to this bid. I use to work alone, but in close contact with my client before a projects starts, during its development and after it is completed. My effort is to provide a clean and simple interface that let users concentrate on their 'real' work and not on figuring out how the software works. You are choosing the right tool to manage your business, FileMaker is very powerful yet the easiest database to be used by all.I have developed several custom made solutions like the one you are requiring. Also one or many Started Solutions can be used and tweaked for your own purposes. There´s a more complex but free solution that you can download from the Richard Carlton Consulting site, it is called FMStartingPoint (I do not think I´m allowed to place the actual url here, but you can search for it easily). This solution can be tweaked to your needs as well. Lastly, I could develop a solution from scratch. Hi, my name is Csaba, and i work with Filemaker about five years ago. In the next one-two weeks starts my POS in two Restaurants. In this two week, i can list the urgent issues and repair them, so i can say, that you could have a close to a full tested version of my solution. Of course designed for your requirements. It has an inventory manager, customer manager, order manager with process tracking (just added, in the kitchen, under delivery, delivered) It has an employee manager (at this time just to track, who added or cancelled an order - if cancelled, why, and who delivered - may can be changed to packed by etc..) If you have interest on my solution, we need to create a clear list about your requirements, and based on your list i can set the milestones for you. Shame, but i am a bit busy at this time, so i need time to be done with your project please think on it. As i think you could start with your new system on the end of october - start of november. This bid is NOT for a filemaker solution. Filemaker, while ok for smaller things, has several issues. It is very similar to Microsoft access, and you can run into issues with things like multiple users accessing it causing file locking issues, and even data loss (rare but possible). It also doesn't scale well as your business gets bigger. For what you are requesting, your best bet would be either a web application run on a local machine, or a desktop app. And doing it that way would still be within the budge range you supplied above. It would provide a solution now, as well as give you the ability to optionally expand in the future. Migrating from FileMaker to something more robust only gets harder as you add more and more data into the system. If you are still interested, get in touch with me and we can work out a game play.
