The project is a Java application with a tabbed GUI front end. The first tab is a panel that displays a number of mini-tables based on the performance of football teams in a given league. The tab will display the four best performing home teams, ranked in order of success in home fixtures only, along with their stats, in a mini table. It does the same for the four worst performing home teams(i.e teams that have performed poorly at home) with the worst performing team at position 1 in their own mini table along with their stats. Ideally these tables should be side by side. The program repeats this process with new mini-tables for the four best and worst performing teams away from home. The home and away form tables should be clearly divided within in the tab. The exact criteria for ranking the teams, and the particular stats to be displayed will be given to the winning bidder. It would be desirable that when the mouse hovers over a team on the table the win/loss sequence for their last 8 home or away games would be displayed as a tooltip...e.g wwwlwwll. All stats to be retrieved from http://stats.football365.com.
Ease of reading should be a major consideration for the designer, rank and relevant stats should be easily read from each tabbed pane. The program should perform this ranking for the following leagues, with a separate tab for each league;
England
Premiership, Championship, League One, League Two.
Scotland
Premier Division, Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3.
Italy
Serie A
Spain
Primera Liga,
Germany
Bundesliga
and
France
Division One.
The title for each tab should be the name of the league e.g. Seire A. There should be an general 'update button' available on all tabs (or just on the frame) to update all data in all tabs. The program itself should auto update all tables on startup and every four hours after that if left open.
The next tab, after all the tabs containing the mini-tables, is the fixtures tab which should allow the user to enter between 1 and 10 fixtures into the GUI. Each fixture will have one row dedicated to it. The row for each fixture will have a number of comboboxes and display fields. The first combobox is to select the required league. The next two comboxes are for the home and away teams. e.g. if the English Premiership is selected as the required league the only teams available from the home and away comboboxes for that particular row are teams currently playing in the premiership (there should also be an 'all leagues' option to cater for cup and European games where all teams are selectable from both comboxes but this should only happen if 'all leagues' option is selected from the first combobox). The next items in the row are a number of textfields or something similar to display the results of the calculations that the program will carry out. When the program detects that two teams have been entered for a fixture, it automatically goes to the Internet and retrieves all relevant information about both teams and displays results of calculations. All information is to be retrieved from the website http://stats.football365.com. The program retrieves information such as home matches won, goals scored, goals conceded, away matches won and so on for both teams in the fixture. The program then performs a number of calculations on these retrieved results and based on these calculations the program will output to the screen %chances of a home win, away win, draw and so on. The exact information to be retrieved and the simple calculations to be carried out will be given to the winning bidder, but all required information can be retrieved from the various statistics available at http://stats.football365.com.
The final tab is to be a very simple odds/stake tab. This tab does not retrieve information from the Internet, it is merely a handy calculator for the user. This tab should allow the user to select teams as in the fixture tab for a particular fixture. This time immediately after the two teams (on same row) should be three radio buttons or something similar which allows the user to select one indicating Home Win/Away Win or Draw. The user can only select one of these radio buttons per row at any one time. The only function these buttons will have is to indicate to the user what option he has chosen. Immediately after these buttons the user can input the bookies odds for the chosen result in decimal or traditional format. The tab should allow the user enter the details for up to 10 fixtures. At the bottom of the column indicating the odds for each fixture is a box indicating total odds for all entered fixtures, this is automatically updated as the user enters the odds. This should be displayed in decimal format only. This is easily got by multiplying all the decimal odds together. Somewhere close to the total odds result are two fields, one where the user can enter a value for required winnings for the bet and the other field (automatically populated by the program) would display the stake the user would be required to place to win this amount e.g if the total odds for a number of fixtures was 14.25 and the required winnings entered by the user was 100 then the required stake displayed in the result field by the program would be 7.02
All calculations to be performed by the program are relatively straightforward. Most of the work that the program has to do is in retrieving, parsing and displaying the statistics.
All 'dynamic' variables such as the teams in each league/division should be stored in an easily editable properties file so that they can be updated at the end of each season after promotion and [login to view URL] should be designed in such a way that it would be relatively simple to add other leagues, leagues from other sports e.g. Aussie Rules etc. Variables such as web address for the stats website should also be stored in a properties file.
we already devleoped a betting website so if you have a fair budget we can help you cause we know what is about your project, thank you and let me know.
