Current task: I log into a web database, enter search parameters, click a few checkboxes and buttons, and download the results as a CSV file to a folder in my computer. Then I have to uncheck the boxes, move to the next portion of the results and repeat the process until I have downloaded all of the results of my search. I have an existing method to automatically combine all that data into a single file (I used VBA in Excel to do that). This process is completed hundreds of times per month. Need: The requirement is that the checkboxes, clicking, and saving be automated for all the results to my search. Note that identifying the elements on the database web page is not the easiest (I couldn’t figure it out, as right click is disabled). I would prefer that it be in Python or even VBA so that I can understand what is going on in case the target website changes.
