Hello to everyone,
I've bought the Huawei E169 3G/GSM USB stick modem. I would like to make and receive phone calls through the SIM card. Maybe this can be done using Wammu and/or Gnokii ? Or any other kind of tool ? Or building a custom application ?
You can find more informations about wammu and gnokii going here :

Anyway if doesn't exist any kind of tool, you can make a custom version. If you are asking to yourself if this stick supports the voice calls, the answer is yes. Under Windows there is the official mobile partner that allows to do it. I've tried to run it on Linux with Wine, but it didn't work. Surfing the net I have found the solution, you have only to make some kind of code : This is :
"I've bought the Huawei E169 and I've found that it can be used with the oFono 0.36. As soon as it recognizes it,it appears the voice call manager graphical interface. The audio stream is provided by the device /dev/ttyUSB1. It works perfectly with aplay. I've found that inside the oFono source files there is the file huawei-audio.c. It is enough to have a linux device and one USB host mode port. You can manage the Huawei modem via dbus and you can easily make a phone call. As soon as a voice call has been established, you should read the audio stream from the serial port and you should send it to the headphones and at the same time you should read the audio stream from the microphone and you should send it to the serial port. You don't need to use the alsa states"
I have six years of experience in developing the product in embedded system and writing device driver for usb, audio. networking and video. I am awaiting for your reply asap.
Thanks
