RE: [login to view URL] and [login to view URL]
[login to view URL] was built with SmartSearch V3.02 with custom adult filtering. It used to block adult words input in the search box as well as it used to filter inappropriate content from MSN Search using a blocked words/url list. All of a sudden, the site quit pulling results from MSN when MSN launched their new search engine.
I decided to update the site to version 4.35. Everythings is working fine with regards to pulling links from external engines. However, 4.35 has its own adult filter, but has limited capability, it does not effectively filter offensive sites like my old custom filtering. I need the following modifications done:
1) The current adult filter only blocks the user from entering bad words. Please make it also scan and filter the search results from ALL external search engines (DMOZ, MSN, Raging, Searchfeed, Revenue Pilot). If any word(s), or phrase(s), or domain urls listed on the adult filter list is found on the data extracted from the engines, those links are blocked/filtered and will not appear in the search results page. Currently, adult sites appear in results even though the keyword typed has nothing to do with them. Even when the adult filter is enabled on Revenue Pilot (done through the Admin Panel), there are still adult sites that sneak up (search for Homeschool Chat, one of the results from Revenue pilot is pornographic - [login to view URL]). So now, I also have to turn off Revenue Pilot and only use the internal SmartSearch database.
2) Allow prioritization or rearrangement of search results on the admin panel. Arrange search results in any order indicated by administrator. This will allow grouping together of links that show keyword bids from SmartSearch, SearchFeed, and Revenue Pilot. Ex: a) SmartSearch primary database, b) SearchFeed c) Revenue Pilot d) secondary internal database, e) free listings, d) other external engines.
I have version 4.35 newly installed at www.FriendlyWebSearch.com. Please test this site. A second external database, SearchFeed and Revenue Pilot are enabled on this one. This is a new site, has no members yet so all testing and modifications will be done to this site first then later applied to [login to view URL] (it has members and site is actively used by homeschoolers).
Thanks for looking into this project.
