I am looking for someone to code a basic website monitoring app in .NET (specifically ASP.NET and c#). I have database of projects, and for each project I have information on the associated URL's, the exact page to monitor and the text to look for in the returned page (and the frequency to monitor the URL). The app should run on a scheduled basis and there should be two parts. One part will query the database, request the monitoring, and save the results to the database (writing a record to a "notifications" table if there is any kind of problem - I'll handle generating the notifications). The other part will run on up to three different server and will actually run the test to ensure accessibility from them. The remote script will be called and will return a response using a URL string (or similar). The first script will be told to ask multiple servers to run the same test (i.e. it'll call the remote script at three different URL's in three different hosting centers) to minimize the number of false positives. The monitoring server will be required to write something to the database every few minutes otherwise a second script (also required) on a separate server will fire off a notification. Finally, there should be a simple reporting interface for viewing monitoring data for an individual account or across all accounts. I will provide detailed spec, data dictionary and screens. You provide clean easy to read, well designed code.
