This project will consist of a C++ (ATL) business object that will reside server side and be responsible for running SQL that is fed to it in a threaded fashion. This will enable the object to receive SQL text from a web page and then execute it without requiring the calling object to wait for completion. The reason for this is my application runs some very large stored procedures that can take up to 10 minutes to complete and this would cause a timeout in the calling web page. I envision the control to look something like this in an ASP page <% Set oNiche = [login to view URL]("[login to view URL]") [login to view URL] = "{ CALL niche_somelargestoredprocedure('param1')}" [login to view URL] %> See, if I do this with a [login to view URL]() the web page will have to wait for the stored procedure to finish. I want it to return right away. This will require that the business object can accept SQL and run it in its own thread (or something like that). Please contact me if you have any additional questions.
