Clean up the design of the site. The site will consist of these Main Sections: 1. Essay Tips: Articles, and Video Tips 2. Essay Editing: Articles, and allow students to submit their essays for editing as a paid service. 3. Sample Essays: Some of these essays will be ones that we choose to have an admissions officer right comments about. I would like the admissions officers comments to open up in an ajax box. Also, the essays that are submitted by the users. These essays registered members will be able to vote on. They can vote either accept, deny, or waitlist. I would like statistics. Also, when an essay receives 50 votes to Deny, i would a message for the student to appear asking them if they would like to revise it and resubmit the essay, and until they answer, it will no longer be visible for the public. I would like to be able to track which essays receive the most votes for "admit". the top 20 vote getters at the end of each quarter will be reviewed by a committee and the winner will receive a 500 scholarship. These essays should be listed by the category that was chosen when the essay was submitted. 4. Submit your essay. In order to submit the essay, students will have to register and create a free account. This is the information we will require: Year of High School Graduation State States where the student would like to attend college SAT score GPA Email Address (this becomes their login) Password (make them double enter the password to check for accuracy) Do they give us permission to send them emails in the future? Have they read our privacy policy and terms and conditions? There will then be a text box for "Essay Title" and a text box to actually submit the essay. There will be a drop down box for students to choose a category for their essay: Response to a Question Personal Statement Family Influence Risky Heritage Overcoming Obstacle 5. Site Map/Privacy Policy-Terms and Conditions/Contact Information Back End: Ability to send bulk emails to students registered in our database, based on year of HS Graduation, States where the Student would like to Attend College, State of Residence, GPA, or SAT score Ability to create new pages from a template right from an admin page (I can show you an example). Statistics that are accessible from an admin page (which essays have received the most votes, activity of the student accounts) Ability to tailor advertising messages when a student logs in to his or her account.
