WPMU site to integrate approx 15 existing small sites into one large parent site

We are a site that is specialized in *Automotive* *Logistics*. With a range of small "magazine" style sites, we want to bring all these together now into one central parent site. We need functionality, flexibility and control so have chosen wordpress multi user site as the most appropriate platform for our needs. The current range of circa 15 individual websites under the Automotive Logistics brand are rich in content, offer a wide variety of information about our different products & services, target different groups (current readers, casual visitors, attendees to a specific conference, advertisers, sponsors etc etc), and present some content in both English and a foreign language. As such, they have formed a very complex constellation of pages in which people sometimes "get lost". We would like to reduce the users' journey to its bare minimum. The purpose is **to create a high-traffic** **Automotive Logistics-centred online community by...** ? delivering a range of content - print magazine - online news - Buyers Guide - conferences [ pre-event preview info, post-conference report (public), conference papers/photos (private) ] - webinars - video ? being a place for comment & opinion - directly on our content - publishing our own or contributed opinion (eg Last Mile) see more details... ## Deliverables - integrating comment made on our branded accounts on other services (our Twitter, Linked-in etc) - pulling in content already published by third parties eg blogs from senior OEM executives ? creating dedicated pages for each conference (sub-sites) through which to attract attendees ? being a location for job advertising ? using a style of design and slickness of functionality and navigation which reinforces our image **... in order to** ? sell our services - paying conference delegates, and online advertising (banners, jobs) - in future will be sale of some of the content ? take free registrations - to AL News, the magazine (subject to further selection of those who will receive print copies) and free attendees to conferences ? collect data on industry executives ? promote our customers - as a deliverable to an offline sale eg event sponsorship - via paid online material (banners, AL News sponsorship) **Access control:** We currently provide most of our content free and without registration. However, a minority of the content is accessed after registration. The members area with content available behind it is of course important. As we are seeking high volume of traffic, the design must be clean, intuitive, branded and use the very latest SEO designs - WPC3 complaint etc. The design must use the latest responsive design templates to display across all various devices. _Important_: we are not, and do not wish to be, at the cutting edge of web development or technology. Reliable, simple, off-the-shelf should be the guidance; in almost all circumstances we will trade off our wish for specific functionality in favour of a simple and quick solution. We will release samples of existing sites and more detail once we shortlist the businesses we choose to work with. Please note: we will not have time to answer individual requests for meetings so we will set up times for those who we shortlist and then run through full Q&A and release additional details of existing sites at that time for you. - you must have experience of WPMU - you must have dev/design experience and the ability to meet all the core requirements listed above - you must have excellent customer service skills - you must go through all due dilligence and be prepared to sign an NDA BEFORE we release details of any actual sites - payment terms are non negitable. These are - once delivery has been agreed and you present the plan then we will pay a 20% retainer, a further 30% will be paid once the design is agreed and the layout of the site is in draft and the final 50% only on sign off of the project.
