I need an application to control the New Mail LED on my Clevo laptop. There is a program supplied with the laptop that does so, but it keeps crashing and has ***_very_*** limited features.
I can supply the original program for analysis on request.
I require the program to check one or more POP3/IMAP mail accounts and engage the LED and play a sound. I would need the program to differentiate between old and new messages, as I often do not delete the mail off the server after viewing it.
I would need to be able to change the interval at which the mail is checked. Also, as the password would need to be stored on the computer, I require that it is duly encrypted and hidden.
While the program is running, it would need to have an icon in the system tray. Using that icon, it should be easy to change the settings, pause the program or exit it.
The program would have to run on startup, probably by having a link to it in the Start Menu\Programs\Start Up folder.
The interface should be modern, simple and easy to use. Would be nice if it could match the Windows XP look.
