place holds information relating to its rooms and their usage. This information is in a variety of formats, as shown in the following table:
_Room ownership data Oracle database
_Connection string/passwords given in further notes.
_Timetabled Room booking information Access database
_Roomdata.mdb_A
aV Equipment Information Excel [login to view URL]
You are required to design, implement and document an integrated system that will bring together the information stored in the various sources.
The system should be able to support the following functions:
Allow the user to enter a room number, and then retrieve and format the information held about that room on the numerous systems. The following information should be displayed on one screen:
the room’s ownership details.
Details about the AV equipment installed in the room.
A grid showing when the room is in use throughout the week.
The percentage of the room capacity used by each booking.
_For example
_A010 has a capacity of 140. The percentage of the room used by a booking can be calculated from the actual size of the booking activity.
Allow the user to interact with data retrieved from the Roomdata database via an OLAP cube to investigate daily room usage.
The system should be accessible via a web page interface.
A detailed user guide for the system should be provided.
In order to complete this system you **must** first analyse the structure of each of these ‘information systems’ to determine where (in what fields) and how the data that is required is stored.
