Hi i worked on linux distro, signage and raspberry pi based signage applications. I have immense experience in digital signage application development using different tools. experience: more than 3 years Applications: 1:Raspberry pi based single and multiple units signage application for client 2:Workplace facebook based digital signage saas cloud base application for client in finland 3:Cloud base Saas application for digital signage application for videos, images and news feed for client in poland. Hello! I have experience in creating distros from scratch, but in my opinion you do not need a own distro. You should use Raspbian (for instance) and just make necessary modifications in configuration of operating system. But need discuss why speeding of boot is so important for you. For you task can be used Epiphany. Most important feature of this browser is support hardware-accelerated video decoding on Raspberry Pi. Also browser have the application mode, that allow easy to reach your goal. Thank you for attention!
