Do you know a good Project Manager who speaks Russian and English?
Have 3 full time developers just outside of Moscow who need coordination in developing my sites and software. Most work done in PHP (using Postgres). Their English is poor (with the exception of the architect, whos time is too stretched), and my Russian is non-existant.
Need roughly 10 hours per week, maybe more. Preferable that they have a broadband connection to enable screensharing.
Am using project management software to collaborate and track each project.
Have trained Indian testers.
About to start using M$ Project on shared server. Using Indian staff to update M$ Project.
Major responsibilities will be:
1. Weekly teleconference calls to developers to ensure they:
1.1 Understand the specifications,
1.2 Sign up to their responbilities and deadlines (presently no accountability, with deadlines slipping and no real reasons being given, and not enough project management being exercised, hence lack of discipline). Deliver on responsbilities and give valid reasons for missing deadlines.
1.3 The right level of developer is matched to projects.
1.4 Tackle the highest priority projects first.
1.5 Follow our development guidelines.
2. Reporting to me on progress.
3. Plan: prioritise and manage timescales.
Small and growing company, moving from London to Sydney.
Hi, Russian isn’t my native language, but I speak it fluent as I live in Lithuania, a former part of Soviet Union. I can perfectly understand mentality and behaviour of those workers and get them work as a team in given time and schedule. Most of time I work on my own project with hired freelancers so all this guidance is my daily work routine.
I don’t programme myself, just basic to average php knowledge, but it’s more than enough to estimate work amount, time needed and priority of given assignments.
