basic python debugging code freeze with pyinstaller

I am trying to use pyinstaller to freeze my code to a single file or single directory peforms this task, but am getting failed to execute script "pyi_rth_certifi" types of errors. I believe the problem is with the files and directories it is using. i am using python 3.7.4 and pyinstaller 3.6
