I need a new functionality to my app using Python and OpenCV

Sounds like some simple code additions that would display some text on the video you are already rendering. I would use the OpenCV putText function to do this. I hope I got your requirements right on this, however, your project sounds simple enough even if I might have not completely understood. Looking forward for your DM.
