Radiologica is an online educational resource for healthcare professionals learning about medical imaging. The website uses a knowledge base theme to organise textual information. Requirement The website now needs to feature a medical image viewer (graphical user interface). An MIT licensed open-source javascript library already exists which performs most of the required tasks. The job would be to integrate this javascript library into the current Wordpress website as a plugin which will not be affected by theme updates. This will require customised code for a graphical user interface which allows the following features; 1. The ability to embed medical images neatly into any page - medical images can be in the form of JPEG (preferred) or DICOM (which are JPEGs with header information) - this includes single images and also image stacks (images which are scrollable - similar to a flipbook) - compliant with the current theme 2. The ability to efficiently window (adjust the brightness and contrast) of the image using the right mouse key 3. The ability to zoom in on the image using the scroll wheel of the mouse 4. The ability to pan the image using the left mouse key 5. The ability to toggle annotations and image overlays on the image 6. A side panel which allows for a gallery style view of related medical images or stacks of images - medical images are often available in multiple views of the same human anatomy. e.g. a frontal view, a side view, a top-to-bottom view. This will be best explained in the resources section below (see point 3) 7. The ability to maximise the image viewer 8. The ability to upload and embed from the Classic word editor the image or stack of images 2. In the same upload window, the ability to custom draw image overlays (polygonal shapes, different colours, borders, opacity) on the image and program simple functions e.g. hyperlink to new page if used in quizzes, display HTML text 3. The ability to replicate the same image (with the same custom overlays) on other pages 4.
