Website Data Import

This should be a simple project. I am using an access database on Windows 2003 server with ASP VB script. I need to get data from a csv text file or excel spread sheet and insert it into a table on my website data base. The format of what I want to do is as follows. The user will upload the data file to the server (This capability is already in place) When the user decides to start the data import they will simply click a link that takes them to the page with the script so that it can begin to run and start to insert the data into the database). Once the script has completed the user will be re-directed to another page with a message 'data imported successfully' The data to be imported is made up as follows. Altogether there are 29 fields made up of 1 x autonumber(primary key), 23 text fields, 1 memo field and 5 number(long integer) fields. While the insert script is running it would be nice to have some sort of egg timer going so that the user knows things are working but that is not mandatory. As mentioned above, at the moment the database is access but the script will need to work with a MYSQL database if we decide to mygrate later. If we are satisfied with the completed job, we will have a number of other similar jobs for the provider to complete in the future.
