Redirect domain.com/default .aspx to domain.com/

I have a site www.inspectyoursite.com. I want to setup a situation whereby if I enter [login to view URL] into the address bar it will redirect to [login to view URL] It still has to be the [login to view URL] page that displays however so a redirect to [login to view URL] or some such thing won't work. I had been recommended to use code such as: if([login to view URL] == "/default.aspx") { [login to view URL] = "301 Moved Permanently"; [login to view URL]("Location","http://www.inspectyoursite.com/" <http://www.inspectyoursite.com/> ); } but that's not working (I only include it so it may give you an idea of what I'm trying to do as the logic seems right. I can happily give FTP access to the winner.
