A two lens relay optic arrangement has to be analysed.
I would like to image the exit slit of a monochromator and create a smaller image in liquid.
The arrangement is the following:
The exit slit of a monochromator is collimated with a lens (f=100mm). A second lens (f=15mm) focusses onto the image plane in liquid. Dimensions are in the attached document.
We noticed noticeable unacceptable aberrations and see the need to analyse the problem better now. We want a comparison of the image quality between various lens combinations and need to find out if a compensate for the influence of the window/liquid layer is needed and how we do it. Will a simple Spherical Aberation Plate be sufficient, or do we need a custom lens?
Additional info: The monochromator generates only one wavelength at a time. To compensate the focal shift of the optical system, we are able to move the first (collimation) lens.
The wavelength can be adjusted between 300nm to 2600nm.
For further details, see attached file.
The job:
is to optimise the position of both lenses at a wavelength of 700nm. Then a contrast image for 4 wavelengths 300nm, 700nm, 1500nm and 2600nm shall be generated.
For each contrast image, the position for the first (collimating) lens shall be optimised and recorded. The position of the second (focussing) lens shall remain fixed for different wavelengths (only the first lens is movable).
This should be repeated for all lens combinations mentioned in the document.
The contrast image with details of what was simulated, as well as the Zmax files for all simulated scenarios, should be provided.
Expulsions:
This job does not include a generation of best-form or free-form lenses. Only a simulation of the contrast images to optimised position of the lenses. Some lenses are not specifically listed with an internet link. Please choose a standard stock lens from Edmunds (or another manufacturer) in Zemax database that fits the general description. Any step that is unclear and would take more than 5% of the overall time of the project shall be discussed with me first.
Kindly provide your overall time and costs estimate.
