2D side-scroller visual assets (game characters, backgrounds, art, concepts)

We are building a 2D side-scroller game, the theme has yet to be decided, however, the visuals will be unique, stylistic and mature (but can still be anime inspired and cartoon-ish). Inspiration: - Dragon's Crown - Braid - Machinarium For the bid, I'll need to see your concept and drawing skills. You will need to submit the following: - A unique drawing of an "human action hero" on an advanced alien planet, your chance of winning is greater if you follow our desired visuals. - "Hero" can be a robot or humanoid. - Avoid Flash-like graphics. - Bids with no sample attached will be ignored. The winner: - The winner will be credited as a graphic artist in the game's end credit. - The final theme will be communicated to the winner. The winner will create assets for the following criteria: - The below only serves as a guide, the final list will be more or less the same, with possible minor changes. - All assets will be vector based and support 1080p resolution. - 6 distinct backgrounds and foregrounds. - 1 hero character (body parts/joints must be able to separate). - There will be multiple animation states for the character, so some body parts need to be redrawn multiple times. - 12 cinematic scenes (backgrounds). - 6 portraits (for characters to talk to each other in cinematic scenes). - 12 distinct enemy characters, will also have separable body parts. - 10 weapons (weapon+projectile) the hero uses. - 10 upgrade/power-up items. Deadline: - Work ideally completed 90 days after winning the bid. - We will require a weekly progress report. - Since the game's development is in progress, we will also need original assets during development. So you must be comfortable in doing so. - We will release funds at our discretion. Typical when we deem the deliverables are 1/3, 2/3, 3/3 completed. Software requirements: - All original assets will be delivered as Adobe Illustrators vectors. If you wish to use another vector drawing program, we will consider it but you'll need to notify us in advance.
