Language Related Website Design and Construction What I need Done I initially need a single website built. There will be roughly 15 pages of content. Key elements to consider: 1. All static content should be modifiable through an online content management system 2. Link to a shopping cart that, in future, can become a central cart for multiple websites (ideally that can save items according to IP address) 3. If possible – integration of shopping cart with Quickbooks 4. Can present in multiple languages (initially Chinese and English) 5. Have integrated multiple auto-responders 6. Have blogging built in 7. The successful bidder will need to advise on the most appropriate open source system to use. 8. Registration form, with capacity to manage different member levels and manage mailing list. Ability to manage member list online, and also download to Excel or other database applications. 9. Web analytics: capability to track traffic, including clicks on every icon, unique visits and exit rates What I already have versus what the provider will build: This will be a brand new site. The provider will need to: 1. Advise on which open source system we should make use of (drupal, Mambo, DotNeNuke, etc) 2. Provide an initial site structure, using the sitemap that we will provide, and the CMS that we decide upon 3. Develop the skin that we can apply to whatever CMS we are using (i.e graphical layout) 4. Create “place holders” for content that we will upload (i.e. categories within the CMS) 5. Ensure that the CMS we use allows us to add pages and content over time 6. Set up forms to capture customer and user data 7. Set up logins and passwords 8. Set up tracking per click on the site 9. Set up the online store and payment gateways The focus is to be on simplicity and useability and stability We have almost finished the copywriting for the site. Graphics and logos will be available for upload. Other context/requirements that providers will need to know: The basic philosophy is to create effective, simple sites quickly using readily available tools, modules and templates.
