Finalization of Web Applicatioin

For a website in development we need some extra help to finish the project. Professionals and consumers can meet on this website and the following has to be done: • Apply an existing registration form. Registration form exists but has to be implemented in application. Two kinds of registration one for the consumer and one for professional, both have to be implemented. • Cross browser testing and compatibility. Make sure everything works on all major browsers: 1. Opera 2. Safari 3. Firefox 4. Internet explorer 5. Chrome + one previous version of all these browser types. (E.g. IE 8) We make use of JavaScript and jquery, some functions might not work in other browsers than Firefox as we have used Firefox for development. • Create an extra field (project length) with the functionality (e.g. 20 days). Only input and display, no other functionality. • Creating a chat function for communication between consumers and professionals. And store chat data. Also display data so users can view chat history. Consumers and professionals have to be able to communicate with each other in real time using a chat function. All data communicated has to be saved to the db. • Creating a feedback widget. With this users will be able to give us feedback or report bugs. Data has to be saved to the database. • Give a preview of a job when posting a job. Most of the functionality is already in place but has to be tweaked. Has to be a separate page (window/tab) so the preview doesn’t interfere with other windows. • Complete a compare function. Needs a check on number of items checked within a web form. (JavaScript function to check if 2 of 3 items have been checked and if they are unique.) • Add a logo functionality as a professional. Some minor modifications. (visual effects) • Limit the number to 5 of selected skills. (professional) (JavaScript function to limit the number of selected items in a dropdown list). • Create a password change function. (professional and consumer) User must fill in old password en new password (2*) to change their password. • Forgot your password function. User must be able to get an email in their registered email box to change their password if they have forgotten it. By following the link in the received email they can change their password by entering a new password. Most functionality already exists but has to be put in place. • SEO has to be implemented. • On all input forms validation messages have to be positioned next to the concerning field. (Approximately 8 forms). Attention: Developer has to sign a non-disclosure agreement to be able to get this assignment.
