Hello Dear, I can build a machine/software which can tell you exact sharpness of surgical scissors. My Machine will work in following Steps/Sequence Step 1: Using the right thumb and middle (or ring) finger, make sure scissors are held like a surgeon. For scissors longer than 4 ½’’ use Spectrum’s standard (Red) scissor test material or Non-Latex (Orange) scissor test material. For scissors 4 ½’’ and shorter in length, use Spectrum’s thin (Yellow) scissor test material. Step 2: Cut through material using ½ of blade to cut all the way through to the distal tip. Step 3: After several cuts, extract scissors. If scissors do not pinch or grab material, scissors are sharp. Step 4: The final test is how the scissors feel. hello ALEX i have read both documents , yes it can be designed and build. i will need the tupes of scissors if there are multiple types in surgical scissors. we neeed to assess the load it requires everytime to cut and compare with ideal sharp scissors case which will be low force evidently. the german document tends to explain the kinematics and the kinetics of the machine which we will do calculations also software based motion analysis to assess the machine working before design delivery. the project deadline is flexible we will try to finish the design and simulation work in 2 to 3 months. we have design and build experinece so producing a practical design is known to us bid budget can be negotiated upon discussing the full project timeline and complexity detail. best regards hammad
