I am trying to build a early forest fire detection system and struggling with the zigbee communication. My current set up is: I have two raspberry pi's used as a master/slave network. The slave network has environmental sensors like temp. and carbon monoxide. The slave sends the data to a master network which is the other raspberry pi. -The master consist of raspberry pi attached to the arduino shield (ARPi600). As well as the master has Xbee (XB24) for RF communication. Then finally the master network sends all the data to a base station (i.e my laptop with another Xbee (XB24) receiving information from the master.
