I need some code written that can read a file from a USB stick and then re-flash the PIC firmware (do a firmware update). My base program is written in Assembly language (I am not proficient in C). When the subroutine is called, the USB code must read a HEX file that will have a fairly constant filename (only the last few numbers in the file name change which is the firmware version number). Its a universal crane control joystick with a momentary push-button, 2 line symbol display and 6 relays. Everything connected to a PIC24 microcontroller. PIC has two PWM outputs controlled by joystick and the button controls those 6 relays (chooses witch output gets PWM signal ) at the same time display shows PWM level and current function name(depends of which relay choosed) I have the PCB ready 90%. I have an android tablet that has a UART port. This will be permanently connected via UART to a Microchip PIC24FJ1024GA606 MCU. I need the app to be able to reprogram the PIC24 in the field, and for safety I want to use the dual boot functionality. I want you to do 3 things: 1) write an android app that will contain a precompiled .hex file. This app will start, ask the MCU which firmware it has and compare against the firmware version in the precompiled .hex file.
